Report a Problem in Aldershot: Who to Contact and Where

Potholes, fly-tipping, noise or a broken street light: here is who handles each in Aldershot.

Aldershot.co Editorial5 October 2026

Report potholes and street light faults to Hampshire County Council, and fly-tipping, dog fouling, abandoned vehicles and noise to Rushmoor Borough Council (01252 398 399 or Love Rushmoor). Call 101 for non-emergency crime and 999 in an emergency.

Quick guide: who to contact

In Aldershot, responsibility is split between three organisations. Rushmoor Borough Council looks after street cleaning, fly-tipping, dog fouling and noise. Hampshire County Council looks after roads and street lights. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary deals with crime.

Potholes and road surface damage: Hampshire County Council

Hampshire County Council is the highway authority. Report a pothole through its report a problem tool. You will need the location, and you can check whether someone has already reported it. The council says reports are logged, inspected and prioritised on safety criteria.

Faulty street lights: Hampshire County Council

Street lights are Hampshire County Council's responsibility, but faults are reported to its contractor, Enerveo, through the report a faulty street light page. Have the road name, town and light number ready.

Fly-tipping: Rushmoor Borough Council

Report fly-tipping on the Love Rushmoor site or through the Love Clean Streets mobile app. Rushmoor's fly-tipping page says it will visit the location, check for evidence of where the waste came from and arrange removal, and fly-tipping is an offence that carries a severe fine.

Dog fouling, litter, graffiti and more: Rushmoor

The council's report a problem page lists these through Love Rushmoor:

  • Dog fouling
  • Litter and broken glass
  • Graffiti (offensive graffiti on council property is removed within 24 hours where possible)
  • Fly-posting
  • Leaf build-up
  • Full or damaged bins

Needles and syringes, bus shelters, benches and street signs go to the customer services team on 01252 398 399.

Abandoned vehicles

Rushmoor handles abandoned vehicles through customer services, not the online form. The council inspects the vehicle and tries to contact the registered keeper before removal. An untaxed vehicle should be reported to the DVLA via GOV.UK.

Noise

Rushmoor's noise and air pollution page has advice on what you can do about noise nuisance and how to report a statutory noise nuisance. You can also call 01252 398 399 or use the council's online contact form.

Crime: non-emergency police on 101

For crime that is not an emergency, call 101 or report online through the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary's report a crime page. If you have a hearing or speech impairment, use the textphone service on 18001 101. Call 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is in danger. To report anonymously, Crimestoppers is on 0800 555 111.
